| Explanation of the mechanics and correct use of the filtration unit On the back of the unit is the pump itself, which requires no involvement on your The pump connection box and the lighting transformer are connected in the electrical control box. The electrical control box Located at least 3.5 metres from the water, the electrical control box contains several fuses and a timer Correct filtration system operation

| Chemical matters, or the basis of sound care. Checking the pH Establishing the pH or hydrogen potential of the water is essential in order to stabilise pool clarity. The pH must always be between 7 and 7.6 on the analysis kit colour scale. The higher the pH, the less effective the disinfecting capacity of the chlorine. Measure the pH once a week and adjust the pH content with pH + or pH – as necessary. Remember to adjust the pH gradually, in several phases. Never put a massive dose of pH+ or pH – into the pool. Take a further reading two hours after making an adjustment and then add another dose if necessary. The ideal chlorine level The ideal chlorine level for comfort and safe disinfecting action is between 1gram and 1.5 grams per cubic meter. Check the level on the analysis kit colour scale. By using one 200-gram slow release chlorine tablet per week for every 40 cu meters of water, the chlorine level should remain stable. However, if necessary, use a shock chlorine treatment of 10 grams per cubic meter. Always put the tablets in the skimmer basket – never put them directly into the pool. The non chlorine treatment While we think that chlorine is actually the best disinfectant for a pool, we do have a range of non-chlorine kits. You may also wish to have your authorised agent install a salt electrolysis treatment system. The right reactions Using the analysis kit, check the level of pH and chlorine in the pool once a week taking care to take the sample from the opposite side from the filtration system unit and at about 40 cm below the surface of the water. After a storm, a heat wave or when a lot of people have been using the pool, it is worth checking the chlorine level and giving a preventive shock treatment. Remember, never carry out a shock chlorine treatment with the pool covered. |

Water that turns Green water With the bottom of the pool visible. This is mainly due to algae, which may be caused by an incorrect pH level, insufficient filtering time, lack of treatment products, left too long in winter, a badly cleaned filter. What you need to do: adjust the pH to a higher acid level. (7) Brush the sides and bottom of the pool so that the algae are in suspension. Carry out a shock chlorine treatment of 10 grams per cubic meter of water and then run the filtration system continuously, cleaning the filter once or twice a day as necessary. Very green water The bottom of the pool is no longer visible. The causes are basically the same but the pool has probably not been treated for a longer period. The mega bag is available from your Desjoyaux authorised agent. |

General pool maintenance Once a week activate the vacuum cleaner and systematically clean the whole pool, or connect the Desjoyaux cleaner and admire it working away from your deck chair … At the beginning of the season and on preparing for winter, clean the water circuit and the outside of the filtration unit. Once a year replace at least 1/3 of the water in the pool to avoid it becoming saturated by stabiliser and to encourage the activity of the water care products. Once a year brush and wash the surrounds and coping, which may otherwise lead to pool water pollution. |
